Uncharted 2, The Must Play Game Of The Generation

I played the first Uncharted. It was a good game but had some problems, namely the difficulty. It could just get to hard at times and the story was also a bit disappointing. It had great characters but they didn't get enough lines and were just sorta there for the most part. It was also pretty cliched, the last few chapters excluded. The sequel is here now and all I can say is, WOW. You wouldn't believe the bump up in quality. Everywhere the first did wrong the first does right and more. Its the reason I bought a PS3 and I wasn't disappointed.

The game play is basically the same as the first game but is much better. I don't know how they did it but its just more fun. For the most part you're running and taking cover while shooting at the hundreds of enemies you will face over the course of the game. The rest is tomb raider stile platforming which is really fun and something I wish they had added more of.

As soon as you start the game the story grabs you by the throat and doesn't let go. If you've read my other reviews you know I don't like to go into the story to much but here it is: You play as Nathan Drake a fortune hunter with a habit of getting caught up in historical myths. In the first game he raced to find the mysterious Eldorado. In this game its a much bigger picture. What starts of with Marco Polo's missing ships ends up evolving so many plot twists, betrayals, and discoveries that I'm not going to go any further as I couldn't do it justice and it really shouldn't be spoiled. But its good, really good, trust me.
The graphics in this game really have no equal. You can watch it on you tube, but when you're actually playing it it will blow you're mind. This is 100% the best looking game I have ever played. Possibly the best thing about this game is that there are no load screens once you're in the game, making it feel like a twelve hour interactive movie. I cant stress enough how great this looks and the same goes for the sound. This has to be the best voice acting ever in a game. The lines feel so real and believable that its hard to believe they aren't real people. The sound effects are also flawless with everything sound just as real as the rest of the game looks. It really draws you in and doesn't let you go till the credits end.
I haven't even said a word about the multiplayer which is still going strong after two years. Even if it wasn't in the game it would be a must buy. It feels like you're getting free stuff.  Its basically a third person Call of Duty 4.  It has all the standard modes like deathmatch and king of the hill, but its also got more creative modes like chain reaction which has you capture bases around the map in a specific order, or plunder which is like capture the flag with one flag.  You can also give yourself two boosters that you unlock more of by leveling up which you do by completing special goals while playing like shooting someone off a wall or getting a kill streak.  All of these modes can be played with up to ten players and theirs also a coop mode for up to three.  You can play through several scenes from the campaign or compete against progressively harder computer characters in survival.  You can also download a siege expansion pack but I don't have it so I can't comment about it.

Bottom line, if you have a PS3 BUY THIS GAME!  If you don't have a PS3 buy one for this game, its that good.
